Are you up for something a bit different? Why not consider a new, rewarding career?

Or maybe you’re already a qualified pest controller and are looking to further your career working for a

smaller progressive pest control business that recognises your efforts.

Service Territory -Berkshire/ Hampshire

Either way, we are looking for the right candidates who can demonstrate to us that they are:

  • Willing to get stuck in.
  • Willing to learn.
  • Great with “people” (listening as well as talking skills).
  • Physically fit and practically minded
  • Patient with a keen eye for detail.
  • Not afraid to get your hands dirty.

If a varied day where you are out and about under your own steam, visiting a variety of customers and solving their problems appeals to you – then a career as a Professional Pest Controller with Countrywide could be just what you’re looking for.

We offer full-on-the-job training for the right candidate to get you fully qualified and set you up for your new career as a BPCA Registered Technician.

Responsibilities

Initially, you will undertake initial training on a variety of pests. Teaming up with our pest ‘management’ technicians you will learn the skills of being an excellent pest controller and also apply the skills and principles of Pest Management. Your daily responsibilities will involve dealing with both preventative (management of pest systems) and reactive (applying pest control techniques) pest visits for a number of domestic or business premises.

The role is both practical and customer focused, so being able to solve problems and explain your recommendations and actions both written and verbally to a variety of customers is key to providing excellent service.

The work is also varied and includes:

  • Insect and rodent control – Both reactive and preventative pest control for a variety of both residential and commercial customers
  • Pest management – managing potential pest problems by controlling the environment and structures that pests exploit.
  • Proofing works – Remedial works to seal up pest entry points
  • Clean up operations – Removing pest debris and threat of disease organisms
  • Bird control installations – These are safe, practical installations; however, you will need a head for heights.
  • External cleaning – We also provide external cleaning, jet washing, soft washing and reach and wash window cleaning for some of our commercial clients.

So, in addition to applying general pest treatments, you will also have the opportunity to work as part of our external bird control and maintenance team where we all hands are on deck when dealing with some of our larger projects and installations.

Qualifications

No formal qualifications or previous experience in pest control are required, as full training will be given.

We encourage applicants from all backgrounds. However, we do find that those with previous customer service experience, such as sales advisors, retail assistants, customer service advisors, delivery drivers, postmen, and utility technicians, tend to fare very well.

Also, candidates with practical experience, such as maintenance technicians, plumbers, drainage engineers, external cleaners, window cleaners, gardeners, ex-military, joiners, general construction or farm workers also have transferable skills that can lend themselves well to the role.

So please remember, this is a practical job that also requires you to be happy with dealing with all types of people.

Rewards

Fair exchange is at the heart of our philosophy in dealing with our customers and our staff. We offer regular support and encouragement for you to make the most of your career with us.

A Trainee technician will receive:

  • Starting salary Negotiable plus company bonus
  • Negotiable salary for qualified technicians
  • Overtime available
  • Sales Commission on new leads

As a Level 2 Pest Control technician or a new candidate with experience, you would also get:

  • Company VW Caddy 2li Bluemotion
  • Works phone.
  • Monthly bonus scheme
  • Varied job role
  • FULL Healthcare after completion of the probationary period.
  • Career Progression – Pay increases as your career progresses with our technician grading system.

We are looking to interview very shortly, so please APPLY TODAY. Once we’ve received your application we’ll be in touch for an informal chat.
